Parks and Facilities Maintenance
The Parks and Facilities Maintenance is responsible for creating a beautiful and functional environment for the enjoyment of a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
Parks: Whether active (soccer, softball, tennis) or passive (picnicking, walking) customer enjoyment of our "green spaces" is the goal of the parks maintenance team.
Facilities: The facilities maintenance team is responsible for the care and upkeep of all the Citys buildings and facilities, to provide a pleasant and functional environment for the inhabitants of the building - whether they be residents, visitors or staff.
A Message from Julie Dahlen
Director - Community Services Department
As we await the early signs of spring, we are making plans to go green - and we invite you to come with us! Beginning in the summer of 2017, we will no longer be printing or mailing Activity Guides. Instead, you will be able to view our offerings instantly online.
All of the activities, programs and classes that you enjoy will still be available, you will just be able to learn about them in a more convenient and environmentally friendly way. Please be sure to check out the flyer on page 8 for more information about our new digital guide and other ways we plan to help you learn about what’s happening.
And, that’s not all that is new. With the addition of our wonderful City parks and facilities maintenance staff led by Maintenance Services Superintendent, Freda Berman, we are now the Community Services Department happy to serve your library, recreation, parks and facilities maintenance needs. Check us out – online!
'Is the spring coming?' he said. 'What is it like?' … 'It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine, and things pushing up and working under the earth.'
