Projects to design water lines, sewer lines, street and alley pavement maintenance, sidewalk rehabilitation, building improvements; or constructing public buildings and/or parks; or studies looking at any facilities or utilities are handled by Public Works.

Projects with a major visual and physical impact, such as the improved Veterans Memorial Bridge, involve teamwork from Public Works and other City Departments. Capital Projects Management work includes community outreach using press releases, interviews and public meetings to help inform City residents and businesses about projects.
