Memorial Tree and Bench Program

Memorial Bench

The City of Paso Robles Memorial Tree and Bench Program is provided by the REC Foundation, a nonprofit group formed for the financial benefit and enhancement of City parks and recreation. The program offers individuals and organizations a means to enhance our City Parks and to provide an opportunity to recognize loved ones who have passed away, or to honor those who have made an impact in our community. The Community Services Department works with donors to help in the selection and location of either the tree or bench.

A certificate acknowledging the donation for a tree planted in a public park is presented to whomever the donor wishes. There are no signs or markers installed with trees, however permanent plaques are included on benches.

Program Details

  • Donations to the City of Paso Robles Memorial Tree and Bench Program are payable to the REC Foundation.
  • A $500 donation will ensure the installation of a commemorative 4 x 6 cast bronze plaque on an existing bench, or planting a shade tree in a public park or open space.
  • Donors must be aware that future park improvements may result in the relocation of plaques and benches.
  • Donors can request the type of tree and the park in which it will be planted. The exact location is determined by the Community Services Department.
