Be Well Paso Weekly Challenge

Day 1

JUST FOR FUN - My wife said that if I don’t get off my computer and help with the dishes, she’ll slam my head on the keyboard, but I think she’s joknksdrpowejfgdsmbldksnvlajeojelmldfjsdifweofjsldnvlndvk 

LET’S MOVE - Try Zumba for Seniors with Paso’s own Zumba Gold instructor Cristina Averseng. 

WHAT TO DO - Get out any knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, or sewing projects that are unfinished and work on them! Want to learn to knit? Try it out here.

IT’S ALL GOOD - Meditate or listen to a guided meditation. 

Day 2

JUST FOR FUN - Still at home and the dog is looking at me like, "See? This is why I chew the furniture." 

LET’S MOVE - Let’s take some time to relax and stretch. Try these five yoga stretches from Paso Robles Recreation 50+ Yoga instructor Debbie Stevens.

WHAT TO DO - Just because we’re keeping our distance doesn’t mean the concerts have to stop. Try a Tiny Desk Concert from NPR.  

IT’S ALL GOOD - Send a donation to your favorite charity or push the "Donate" button at the supermarket check out stand.

Day 3

JUST FOR FUN - I used to spin the toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now I turn it like I’m cracking a safe. 

LET’S MOVE - Try a 20-minute chair workout.

WHAT TO DO - Play Solitaire or Soduko online. 

IT’S ALL GOOD - Create a social media post that shares 3 things you are grateful for right now. Expressing your thoughts and feelings like this can help you maintain focus on the good.

Day 4

JUST FOR FUN - I need to practice social distancing from the refrigerator. So, after this shelter-at-home is over, will the producers of My 600 Pound Life just find me or do I find them?

LET’S MOVE - If you spend a lot of time sitting at a computer, here are some exercises for you.

WHAT TO DO - Go outside and pull some weeds.

IT’S ALL GOOD - Set up a family Zoom event every Sunday afternoon.

Day 5

JUST FOR FUN - I’m so excited...it’s time to take out the garbage. What to wear, what to wear? 

LET’S MOVE - Planet Fitness: Live-streaming 20-minute "work-ins" every day on Facebook and YouTube. The workouts can be done from home and don’t require any equipment.

Day 6

JUST FOR FUN - I sent my son next door with a packed suitcase. They called and asked why. I said he is a home school foreign exchange student. 

LET’S MOVE - Wall Push-ups: Stand about 2 feet away from the wall (move closer to the wall to make the exercise easier), and put your hands against it at shoulder height and shoulder-width apart. Keeping your body in a straight line, bend your elbows diagonally to your sides to lower your chest to the wall. Let your heels come off of the floor. Pause, then slowly press through your hands to straighten your elbows and return to start.

WHAT TO DO - Clean out a closet. Or the attic. Or the garage.

IT’S ALL GOOD - Go through old family photo albums and remember good times with loved ones.

Day 7

JUST FOR FUN - Every few days, try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom. 

LET’S MOVE - Do 10 jumping jacks. Do them from a seated position if more comfortable. 

WHAT TO DO - Take a painting class with Stormy Capalare.

IT’S ALL GOOD - Write a letter to someone to let them know you’re thinking of them.
