Be Well Paso Weekly Challenge

Day 1

JUST FOR FUN - I started a new exercise routine this week. Every day I do diddly-squats. 

LET’S MOVE - 30-minute medium intensity pilates.

WHAT TO DO - Clean your car.

IT’S ALL GOOD - Make a list of your positive qualities.

Day 2

JUST FOR FUN - My mother-in-law is here. It’s been incredible to have her here. She doesn’t know it but she’s emergency food if this gets real. 

LET’S MOVE - Stand about 3 feet away from a wall, facing the wall, with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lean forward and place your hands flat on the wall, in line with your shoulders. Your body should be in plank position, with your spine straight, not sagging or arched. Lower your body toward the wall and then push back. Repeat 10 times. 

WHAT TO DO - Take up a new language. Try Mango Languages, available through the Library’s digital collection.  Don’t have a library card? eCards are available (for ages 13 and up) through the Black Gold Cooperative Library System.  

IT’S ALL GOOD - Play a board game with someone you love. The Houseparty app lets you play games online with friends.

Day 3

JUST FOR FUN - Of all the things I learned in grade school, how to avoid cooties was the last one I expected to use. 

LET’S MOVE - 5-minute medium intensity workout.

WHAT TO DO - Watch a comedy on TV or old clips of Johnny Carson Tonight shows. 

IT’S ALL GOOD - Make a list of sayings or things that inspire you.

Day 4

JUST FOR FUN - Sheltering at home has taught me something. Some strawberries have 210 seeds, some have 235 seeds. Who knew? 

LET’S MOVE - 6-minute glutes workout.

IT’S ALL GOOD - Take a nap.

Day 5

JUST FOR FUN - They said a mask and gloves were enough to go to the grocery store. They lied. Everyone else had clothes on. 

LET’S MOVE - 10-minute core routine.

WHAT TO DO - Watch a musical. Here are some suggestions or a Broadway show: National Theater at Home and BroadwayHD offer free access to plays and Broadway shows (limited time). 

IT’S ALL GOOD - Search out your family tree with AncestryLibrary from the Library’s digital collection. Don’t have a library card? eCards are available (for ages 13 and up) through the Black Gold Cooperative Library System.

Day 6

JUST FOR FUN - My house was TPd last night. It’s now appraised at $875,000. 

LET’S MOVE - 15-minute metabolism booster.

WHAT TO DO - Research something that you’ve been interested in but haven’t had the time to dive into. MasterFILE Complete offers the largest collection of popular full-text magazines, reference books and other highly regarded sources from the world’s leading publishers. Access through the Library’s eLibrary.

Day 7

JUST FOR FUN - Dear taco trucks. Please consider cruising the neighborhoods like ice cream trucks.  

LET’S MOVE - 20-minute beginner cardio and core workout.

WHAT TO DO - Have a good laugh. Read a couple of comic strips that you enjoy. (For inspiration, try Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, or xkcd.)

IT’S ALL GOOD - Look for positive quotes and share them daily with friends and family via text and emails.
