The trenching for all pipelines (sewer, fiber optics, streetlight conduit, traffic signals) are complete. The concrete phase (missing curbs, sidewalks, curb ramps and driveway upgrades) are also complete. Thus the equipment at the site has been moved out of the way, the construction crew have decreased in numbers, and construction activity has slowed down.
The contractor is gearing up for the next phase which is the actual ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PHASE. The week of August 20th, the construction crew will be lowering all utility covers, and getting them area ready for the week of August 27th, when road reconstruction will begin.
Contractor will begin removing and grinding out asphalt on the south side of the road on Monday, August 27th. Then the removal of base and reworking for full depth reclamation to make the base more structurally sound will begin, followed by placement of the asphalt surface done. This phase of work will require a substantial amount of equipment and work crews. Although the road will be open to traffic, it would be best if the community can find alternate routes as it will be congested and may require delays. The Road Reconstruction Phase is expected to last for 2-3 weeks.
