PASO ROBLES, CA – On April 18, 2019, the Paso Robles Police
Department responded to a fight in progress at Pine St. and 10th St. Officers
arrived on scene and contacted two 17 year-old males and one 16 year-old male
who were suspects in this altercation. While speaking with these suspects, the
Paso Robles PD was advised that an 18 year-old male and a 17 year-old male had
been stabbed and just arrived at a local hospital. One victim had four stab
wounds to the arm, torso and pelvis, while the other was stabbed under the arm.
Neither victim was considered to have life threatening wounds.
Officers learned that this altercation occurred as a result
of an unreported theft. The three juvenile suspects contacted at the PD had
stolen marijuana products and vape pods from one of the stabbing victims on the
previous day. This theft led to the juvenile victim enlisting the help of
numerous friends in an attempt to find the three suspects and recover his
stolen marijuana/vape products.
At some point these two groups found one another and a chase
occurred through Atascadero and Paso Robles where it ended at the PD. Both
stabbing victims and several of their friends cornered the suspects and began
to fight. One of the 17 year-old suspects was in possession of a knife and
stabbed both victims. The victims then left the scene and responded to the
local hospital. Officers located several items of stolen property as well as
the knife at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, one 17 year-old male was
arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon and theft. Theft charges
will be submitted to the DA on the other two juveniles who were released to
family.
