PASO ROBLES, CA – Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services would like to take this opportunity to inform the public of an upcoming Active Shooter training exercise.
The Paso Robles Unified School District continues to modernize their school sites and an opportunity for training has occurred at the Bauer Spec site, located at 401 17th Street. This site will eventually be torn down and replaced. Through continued collaboration with the School district, this presents the perfect opportunity to utilize the empty campus for this type of training.
The above site will be used on August 14, 2019 at 0900, to host a multi-agency drill simulating an active shooter situation on campus. Both police and fire will work in a coordinated effort to secure the scene, treat, and transport simulated victims to the proper hospitals.
This event was in the planning stages prior to the recent incident at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The incident in Gilroy emphasizes the need to be prepared.
Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services would like to take this opportunity to reinforce the importance of the Reverse 911 system. The Reverse 911 system uses a database of telephone numbers and associated addresses, which, when tied into geographic information systems (GIS), can be used to deliver recorded emergency notifications to a selected set of telephone service subscribers.
