At approximately 4:26 p.m. on Saturday November 2, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services was dispatched to the area of Highway 46 East at Airport Road for a vegetation fire.
The first arriving engine reported approximately ¼ acre burning in grass. Forward progress was quickly stopped by the initial arriving units and the fire was fully contained within 30 minutes. No structures were damaged.
Two fire engines, one squad and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded. One type III engine from SLO County / Cal Fire assisted with containing the fire. Additional responding units under the cities Automatic Aid Agreements were cancelled prior to their arrival. The cause of the fire was un-determined.
Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind residents that vegetation is still critically dry. The threat from wildfires in SLO County still exists, even with the cooler temperatures. Please be diligent to “prevent one less spark.”
