The public is invited to learn about the science behind how noise and vibration travels through Paso Robles and to craft updates to the existing noise regulations to better suit the needs of the community
PASO ROBLES, CA – The City of Paso Robles will be updating the Paso Robles General Plan Noise Element and preparing a new Noise Ordinance. The Noise Element provides a policy framework for the noise environment in Paso Robles, and identifies and addresses noise from a variety of sources including: airport operations, vehicular traffic, rail operations, industrial uses, and other point sources. The new Noise Ordinance will establish standards for acceptable noise levels generated by those sources.
The City of Paso Robles will be hosting a Planning Commission "Study Session" for the Noise Element Update to gather resident input. The Study Session will feature a presentation of findings from data gathering completed this summer that measured noise and vibration in and around the City (from the Fair concerts, Vina Robles, railroad, etc.). Attendees will also learn about the science behind how noise and vibration travels through Paso Robles and will be asked to help craft updates to the existing noise regulations to better suit the needs of the community. Input gathered at this session will help with Noise Element update and preparation of a new Noise Ordinance.
