Russ Surber, displaying his photography in the Paso Robles City Library the month of November, invites the public to reawaken their senses by viewing common sights from a different perspective. “I believe that because of our familiarity with the landscape that surrounds us we often lose the ability to see its inherent beauty; it becomes dull because our senses become dull.”
Former Atascadero High graduate, Coast Guard officer, Foreign Service officer, Hearst Castle guide, and library volunteer, Surber believes everyone has a creative spark in their souls. “I think my artistic vision find resonance in the world around me and vice versa; the world around me feeds my vision,” states Surber.
