PASO ROBLES, CA, January 16, 2019 – The last of a series of Pacific storms has been forecast to affect Paso Robles starting at 8:00PM on January 16, 2019.
The City of Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services is asking all residents to avoid the riverbed during and following the storm and to allow extra time during the morning commute on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
The Salinas Riverbed is extremely hazardous during these rain events and ALL Residents are advised to stay clear of the riverbed. Danger signs have been posted along the riverbed to advise people not to enter the area.
On March 22, 2018, ten residents of Paso Robles were rescued from the river and moved safely to the shore. The rescues occurred during a period of intense rainfall and after a series of winter storms.
During storm events always remember to be aware of rapidly rising water levels and swift moving water. “Turn around and Don’t Drown”.
