County Reopening Plan Unveiled

SLO County just released its draft guide to help our community move forward once the Governor lifts the State Shelter-at-Home Order.

The START (Steps To Adapt & Reopen Together) Guide provides the public with the desired approach for a phased reopening of our communities and economy. 

The County has also released a draft of supplemental guidelines for businesses and industries with recommendations for best practices in the first phase of reopening. View the guide at www.readyslo.org

Governor's Reopening Plan

Governor Gavin Newsom, alongside the California Department of Public Health Director, has laid out an update on California’s Roadmap to Pandemic Resilience, which discusses how the state is planning its path forward, in phases based on science, health and data.

We are in Stage 1: Safety and Preparedness - Making essential workforce environment as safe as possible

Stage 2: Lower Risk Workplaces - Creating opportunities for lower risk sectors to adapt and re-open; Modified school programs and childcare re-open

Stage 3: Higher Risk Workplaces - Creating opportunities for higher risk sectors to adapt and re-open

Stage 4: End of Stay-at-Home Order - Return to expanded workforce in highest risk workplaces; Requires therapeutics.

Veteran's Center COVID-19 Testing 

The state public health office is setting up a COVID-19 testing site at the Paso Robles Veteran's Center located at 240 Scott Street. Registration for appointments will begin on Saturday, May 2, 2020. The online registration link can be found on ReadySLO.org or you can register by phone at 888-634-1123. Testing is set to begin Monday, May 4. Insurance information will be collected when you register, but no co-pay required.  If you do not have insurance, the State of California will pay for your test.

Food Distribution Resources

The City is tracking and sharing comprehensive lists of free meal and pantry services provided in the Paso Robles area. Pleases share this information with anyone who could benefit from it. Details

Free WiFi Networks in Paso Robles

During this shelter-at-home period, the City is helping student residents with internet accessibility by expanding reception at two locations: in front of the City Library on 11th Street and at the Library Study Center at 36th and Oak. To connect to the WiFi, log into the library’s secured network which is the same at both locations:

In addition, Spectrum and Ranch Wi-Fi are also offering free or discounted services.

City Council to Consider Waiving Penalties

City staff is requesting that City Council approve a waiver of penalties and interest for monthly water and sewer service along with a deferral of business license tax renewals and waiver of penalties and interest. The item is up for consideration at the May 5, 2020 City Council meeting. Read the staff report.

Recreation Services Update

The City's trails, pathways and open spaces remain open as long as you're practicing safe physical distancing.  Centennial Park will remain closed during the month of May.  All registration for spring and summer activities are pending until further notice. The City's Recreation Services staff and talented instructors have put together this video message just for you!

Messages of hope and inspiration have begun to appear throughout the Paso Robles community including this heart bearing the message Paso Love in the Paso Robles City Park.  Residents and business owners are encouraged to join the nationally recognized Happy Heart Hunt campaign.  To learn more visit the Rec website or the Recreation Services Facebook page.

Mask Donation Program

The County is asking you to participate in fabric mask donation program to provide to those in need. New fabric masks will be distributed at local  food  distribution  sites  to community  members who can’t readily make or  purchase their own. Donations are being accepted today, through Friday May 8 at CalFire stations throughout the county. Drop off locations and mask making tutorials can be found here.
