Shelter-at-Home OrderThe County’s Shelter at Home Order expired on Saturday, 5/16. SLO County now falls under the State’s Stay at Home Order, and we must follow the State’s timeline and process for reopening.
The Governor announced yesterday new criteria for allowing most Counties to move farther into Phase 2 and open dine-in restaurants and in-store retail, pending State approval and following state guidelines.
The County has re-attested its readiness to reopen under the new criteria this week that are better indicators of current COVID-19 transmission trends.
SLO County meets the new criteria and could hear from the State this week. Details
For an updated list of businesses allowed to reopen today, and for state guidelines that restaurants and retail can use now to prepare for reopening, visit emergencyslo.org/reopening.

SLO County Short Term Lodging OrderTo protect public health, San Luis Obispo County issued an Executive Order to cap lodging occupancy at 50%, and reiterating that hotels are only to be operating for essential travel at this time, effective midnight on Sunday, May 17, 2020. The order will be reviewed every fourteen (14) days. Increases in new infections threaten our community's safety and further delays our ability to adapt and reopen together under the State’s Plan. We hope that we will continue to work together to keep our community safe as we begin to slowly reopen. Hotels and motels are not shutting down. They will still be allowed to operate. We must continue to protect the health of our community as we try to also reinvigorate the economy with a gradual reopening. Details

Free Testing Available No-Cost COVID-19 Testing Now Available for Any SLO County Resident. ALL residents including those without symptoms are eligible for testing at the Paso Robles Veteran’s Center State sponsored testing site.
Tests are still by appointment only. Register online for an appointment or call 888-634-1123.
It is important to get tested, even if you do not have symptoms, because the virus may be spread by people who do not experience symptoms and by those who later develop symptoms.
Conducting a certain number of tests is one of the State’s key criteria for reopening. The County will continue to encourage increases in testing and asymptomatic testing as long as resources are available and until a vaccine is available.

A Message from the City Streets CrewIn the City of Paso Robles, our Streets crews are some of the busiest employees in the City. Over the last 6 years, we’ve dedicated $30 million dollars to repairing and improving Paso’s streets. On any given day you will find crews filling potholes, fixing hot spots, installing or repairing sidewalks, locating underground utilities for traffic signals and street lights, installing light poles, abating weeds and tending to road edges to ensure driver safety.
