PasoStrong Self-Certified Business List

The County of San Luis Obispo created a self-certification form and "Open and Safe" signage for all businesses to utilize as they are allowed to re-open.

The businesses listed here have stated that "This business has self-certified that it complies with the State's Resilience Roadmap by completing the County's Self Certification for reopening."

If you are a business owner and would like to add your business, please complete this form created by the Paso Chamber.

California Mid-State Fair is Canceled for 2020

The 2020 California Mid-State Fair, scheduled to take place July 22 through August 2, has been canceled. The decision was based on the current restrictions from state and local leaders regarding mass gatherings.
The 2021 California Mid-State Fair is set to run July 21 – August 1 and will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary. For further information visit www.MidStateFair.com

DMV Field Offices Reopening

DMV has reopened select offices to assist customers with existing appointments and with limited select transactions that require an in-person visit. While the Paso Robles office remains closed, the San Luis Obispo office is now open.  Customers are required to wear a facial covering to enter the office. Check the Online Services page for ways to complete your DMV business. DMV has extended all driver licenses that expire between March and May 2020 and has expanded eligibility to renew online. New appointments are not currently available.

Testing ad

Last Week for State Sponsored Testing in Paso Robles

The last day of testing at the Paso Robles Veterans Center is Fri, June 5. That testing facility will be moving to San Luis Obispo, at a location to be announced.

Tests are by appointment. Register online for an appointment or call 888-634-1123.

Testing will remain available at MedPost Urgent Care of Paso Robles at 500 1st St, Paso Robles

Antibody Testing:
While antibody testing for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is not currently available by the San Luis Obispo County Public Health lab, local health officials say SLO County is positioning itself to have the tests when FDA approved tests become available to California.

Local labs may be offering antibody testing, but the accuracy of these tests can't be confirmed.

The City is tracking and sharing comprehensive lists of free meal and pantry services provided in the Paso Robles area. Pleases share this information with anyone who could benefit from it. Details

Library Curbside Service 

Beginning June 1, Library patrons who wish to reserve items available in the Paso Robles Library and patrons with items currently being held in the Paso Robles Library can obtain those items through curbside service, Monday-Saturday, 10-4. All returned items will be placed in quarantine for 72 hours prior to check in. Details

Limited Recreation Services Available

Also beginning June 1, Recreation Services will reopen the tennis and pickleball courts at Centennial Park and will also begin offering a limited number of modified versions of popular indoor classes but held outside at various locations throughout the park. Classes will be limited in size to a total of ten people (including the instructor). Details

Items of interest relating to COVID-19:
  • COVID-19 Economic Recovery Measures: Temporary Uses of Public Right-of-Way- Parklets, Street Closures, City Parking Dining Program - Council recently approved dining in City parks, will revisit parklets and street closure concepts at their June 2 meeting. Watch the May 19 presentation and discussion

  • Continued Direction on Proposed 2021 Budget:
    Due to COVID-19 fiscal impacts, the City's budget for FY2021 must be reduced by $13 million. Staff is bringing forward various scenarios for Council consideration prior to final budget approval at the June 16, 2020 City Council meeting. 


  • Safe Parking Program for Homeless Individuals and Families: In early April, the County proposed working with the City to create a safe parking area in Paso Robles in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Locations considered included parking lots at the Event Center, the Walmart shopping center, and the northerly train station parking lot.

    Until further notice, City meetings are being held virtually. Agendas, staff reports and information on how residents can participate is here.
