Business Sectors Allowed to Reopen with Self-CertificationState health officials issued new guidance for several business sectors to reopen no sooner than this Friday, June 12 upon self-certification. The new State guidance addresses: - Statewide: Schools; childcare (updated); day camps; casinos operated by sovereign tribal nations; entertainment production (music, film and television); and professional sports without live audiences; and
- Counties with variances: Campgrounds, RV Parks, and outdoor recreation; hotels, lodging and short-term rentals; cardrooms, satellite wagering facilities and racetracks; family entertainment centers and movie theaters; restaurants, bars, and wineries; museums, galleries, zoos, and aquariums; and fitness facilities.
SLO County Public Health Officer Dr. Borenstein has indicated that in addition to state guidelines barring youth and adult recreational sports leagues, no indoor fitness classes are allowed at this time. She will reevaluate that guidance in three weeks. Find a full list of guidelines at emergencySLO.org/reopen

Protecting High Risk PopulationsCOVID-19 is still in San Luis Obispo County, there is no vaccine available and limited treatment. Your vigilance and proactive measures have contributed to the low transmission rate in SLO County. Let’s keep it that way.
There are things you can do to reduce your risk of getting sick. 1. Know the symptoms of COVID-19 and get tested if you’re sick. 2. Avoid getting sick by staying home as much as possible. 3. Wash your hands often, and practice physical distancing when outside of the home. 4. Stay home from work and school if you’re sick. 5. Continue taking your medications.

City Now Accepting Parklet ApplicationsOne June 2, City Council approved the placement of up to 5 parklets downtown. A Parklet is created by transforming an existing parking area in front of a restaurant or in a private parking lot into dining. Providing outdoor dining space will help facilitate social distancing and safe dining during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional parking will be provided by private parking lot owners to offset the parking stalls dedicated to parklets. To express interest and receive and application packet, please email Community Development Director Warren Frace at wfrace@prcity.com. Details
