Keep it small. Enjoy a small backyard barbecue with members of your household. Do not go to or throw a Fourth of July party or gathering with 10 or more people.
Keep it simple. Try a new beverage or food recipe at home, and order takeout or delivery, being sure to keep your distance and your face covering on while in line and waiting for your food. Do not visit crowded spaces. Go outside with plenty of space. Visit a local campsite, beach or park with members of your household. County campsites are currently open on a first-come, first-served basis only to SLO County residents. Keep gatherings small, outdoors and with enough space for people from different households to remain spaced at least six feet apart, and wear a face covering. Do not travel far from home.
Go virtual. Enjoy a virtual concert or virtual fireworks show at home. Do not go out to celebrate if you are feeling sick (even mildly sick).

State Orders Closures in 19 CountiesOn July 1st, Governor Newsom ordered the closure of various business sectors in 19 counties that have seen an increase in COVID-19 cases. In addition, the Governor announced that Counties that have been on the County monitoring list for 3+ days must close or move their operations outside. The closures are to remain in place for at least 3 weeks. More information here.San Luis Obispo County is currently not on either of these lists, but cases are rising.
We need to work together to keep our County safe and open. Help keep Paso safe by: - Wearing a face covering in most public settings
- Practicing physical distancing
- Washing your hands frequently
- Staying home when you are not feeling well

SLO County Continues to Investigate 100% of Cases- Contact tracing has revealed information that can help us avoid the greatest risks.
- Cases are increasing among younger adults: 407 of SLO County’s 642 total cases are under age 50. To date, 12 of local hospitalized cases were under age 50.
- Most cases in SLO County are attributed to person-to-person spread (contacts of known cases), particularly at family and social gatherings. It is important to avoid hosting or participating in this type of gathering.
- Nearly an equal number of cases, and an increasing number of cases, are attributed to community spread, including many reported cases at bars. It is important to avoid gathering in crowded, enclosed environments.

A Second SLO County Resident has Died Due to COVID-19This loss is a sad reminder that we must all protect our most vulnerable community members. - The 94-year-old patient was hospitalized with severe COVID-19 illness for about two weeks.
- People at higher risk should stay home as much as possible and consider ways to get food and prescriptions delivered through family, social, or commercial networks.
- If you have friends, neighbors, or family members at higher risk for serious illness, please take a moment to call them and offer your support so they can stay at home as much as possible.
