Beechwood Plan Going to Council The Planning Commission, after much thoughtful discussion, recommended approval of the project at its August 11 meeting. The Public Hearing will take place at the October 6 City Council meeting.
The 235-acre site is located in the southeast corner of the city; south of Meadowlark, east of Virginia Peterson Elementary, and north of Creston Road.
If approved by City Council the project would result in the development of 911 residential units, 5.6 acres of commercial and mixed-use development; an 8-acre public park; and 20 acres of open space. Project details

Voter Service Centers in Paso RoblesVoter Service Centers in SLO County will be open Saturday, October 31 through Monday, November 2, 9 AM – 5 PM and open ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, November 3, from 7 AM – 8 PM. Vote by Mail Ballots can be dropped off at Voter Service Centers or the Paso Robles City Library. Ballots returned at these boxes are collected directly by the Election office. Note: Hours/locations are subject to change due to COVD-19. Please check the County Elections website for updates. See Paso locations

Measure J-20Measure J-20, the Office of City Treasurer, and City Council seats for Districts 3 and 4 are on your local Paso Robles ballot. If enacted, Measure J-20, which is a 1% supplemental sales tax, would provide funding to better maintain general city services, such as: - Fire and paramedic response services
- 911 emergency and police response services
- Wildfire and natural disaster emergency preparedness
- Maintaining and upgrading public safety equipment
- Fixing streets and potholes

COVID-19 is still a major concern in SLO County, and in order to move through the state's Tier system and to eventually reopen SLO County fully, we must continue to slow the spread of the disease. Movement through the Tier system is based on the number of new cases, positivity rate and hospital capacity.

COVID-19 Testing in SLO CountyDue to increased testing capacity, the County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department is once again urging anyone with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) symptoms or who may have been exposed to COVID-19 to get tested at one of the County’s three community testing clinics. Science-Dipity Academy Calling all inquisitive young scientists! Join science educator Tim Baker for in-person socially distanced hands-on scientific discovery during these two new classes. During the Family class, children ages 4-8 and their grown ups will join Mr. Baker for one on one 30 minute private science exploration activities. The Science-Dipity Academy features a socially distanced group learning dynamic for ages 7-11 with problem solving and hands-on discovery. Paso Robles Library Book Group Reads The Five by Hallie Rubenhold Thursday, October 15, 7:00-8:00 pm. ZOOM This title is available in eBook and audiobook formats through the library’s hoopla Digital platform. The Five tells the stories of five women who had nothing in common but the year of their murders—1888—and the person allegedly responsible for them, never identified but made famous by the press. For more than a century, newspapers have been keen to report that Jack the Ripper preyed on prostitutes. Historian Hallie Rubenhold has discovered otherwise and strives to tell the real stories of poverty, homelessness, and rampant misogyny. City's Recent Fire Protection RatingCity of Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services recently received the results of an insurance evaluation designed to identify property and casualty insurance risk assessments for insurance companies. According to the Summary Report presented at the September 1 City Council meeting, the City of Paso Robles fire department received a Public Protection Classification score of 75.55 out 105.50; equivalent to a C- rating.
