1-bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) wait list opening soon for Chet Dotter Senior Housing in Paso Robles. Apply online Tuesday, March 16 at 9:00 a.m. until Thursday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m. This is a non-smoking property reserved for seniors - must be 62 years old or older to apply. An email address is required for the online application. City Hiring Aquatics Staff

The City of Paso Robles is hiring seasonal staff for their 2021 Summer Aquatics Programs. Several positions are available at both of the City’s pools, including Lifeguards/Swim Instructors, Assistant Pool Managers and Pool Office Assistants.

The following San Luis Obispo County residents can get vaccinated against COVID-19 at one of the County’s three COVID-19 vaccine clinics: 
  • Anyone age 65 and older 
  • Anyone age 16-64 who is at highest risk of serious COVID-19 illness or death due to severe health conditions  
  • Education and child care workers  
  • Emergency services workers 
  • Food and agriculture workers  
  • Health care and community health workers  
  • Long-term care facility residents and staff

Line Dance

These beginning and intermediate classes offer country style line dancing plus music from many genres including country, top 40, hip hop, ballroom, blues, funk, Latin, Irish, swing and more. No partners needed.  Tuesdays, 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesdays, 9:30-11 a.m. in the Centennial Park gymnasium.  $50/10 punch pass. Classes begin Tuesday, 3/30.

Paint Party: A Hopeful Heart

Sip lemonade while painting and enjoying seasonal music during this art class for ages four to adult. This month we'll be painting a rainbow colored heart using acrylic on canvas. Saturday, March 20 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Centennial Park patio.  $10 registration fee (payable online) + $15 supply fee (payable to the instructor at class). $5 registration discount for additional family members. Youth Evolution Spring Break Basketball Camp (Level 2/3)

Join Youth Evolution Basketball for a three day outdoor skills camp to help your child stay active and engaged in a safe environment. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5-7 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on the Centennial Park basketball courts.  Ages 5-11. $100 ($10 sibling discount).

Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses

Designed for experienced swimmers who want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Advanced skills and lifesaving techniques will be taught and tested. Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications will be awarded upon the successful completion of the course.  Session 1:April 5-8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Session 2: April 9-1, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both classes will be held at Paso Robles Municipal Pool (534 28th Street). $100 (includes certificate fee).  Details

Senior Tax Assistance 

AARP-Tax Aide will be at the Senior Center Monday through Friday from February 1 through April 1 from 9 to 12 for drive up and drop off service only.  There will not be any in-person tax preparation.  No appointments will be taken. When you arrive, please stay in your car with your mask on.  A Tax Aide representative will meet you at your car window, give you forms to prepare, and take all your 2020 tax documents. Please do not come unless you have all your tax documents. When your tax return is ready in 7 to 14 days, you will be called and asked to return to sign and pick it up.  Please go to the Central Coast Free Tax website at ccfreetax.org for more information.

Translation Services Available

The City of Paso Robles is using a new translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and will now be available to all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
