Here are some of the activities now allowed under the Orange Tier:

  • Restaurants: Indoor seating increases to 50% capacity or 200 people maximum.
  • Gyms and Fitness Centers: 25% capacity indoors; indoor pools can open.
  • Wineries and Breweries: 25% or 100 people indoors maximum
  • Movie Theaters: 50% or 200 people maximum.
  • Museums, Zoos and Aquariums: 50% capacity for indoor activities.
  • Places of Worship: 50% capacity indoor activities.
  • Bars with no food service: Open outdoors with modifications.
  • Gatherings and events: View the County’s checklists for capacity limits and restrictions. 
Vaccine

MyTurn Vaccine Registration 

Residents of San Luis Obispo County ages 16 and older who want to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at one of the County’s three mass vaccination clinics can now make their COVID-19 vaccination appointments on the State’s My Turn website.  Those without internet access or who have difficulty with the form can call the Phone Assistance Center at (805) 543-2444 or (805) 781-4280 and an operator can help them.

Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

Restaurant Revitalization Fund

The Small Business Administration is providing financial relief to restaurants through its newly-created Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF).  Registration for the SBA application portal will begin on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9 am ET. Applications will open on Monday, May 3, 2021, at noon ET. Apply here

Rent Relief  

If you have experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19, have past due rent or utilities, and have a household income that is not more than 80% of the area median income, you may be eligible to receive help to pay past due or future rent and utilities from the state of California. Go to HousingIsKey.com, or call 833-430-2122, and if eligible, apply.

Small Business Grants 

Round 6 of Small Business Relief Grants goes live 

Wednesday, April 28 at 9:00 AM - Tuesday, May 4 at 5:00 PM. Notifications will begin Friday, May 7. Details: 
  • Eligible applicants: current waitlisted small businesses and/or nonprofits not selected in Rounds 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 and new applicants that meet eligibility criteria.
  • Eligible grant award: $5,000 to $25,000
Applicants not selected to receive a grant in Rounds 1, 2, 3 & 5 do not need to re-apply and will be automatically moved into Round 6. New applicants will need to apply on this website: careliefgrant.com

SLO County Microgrants

The County of San Luis Obispo has launched its Road to Recovery program to help local businesses mitigate the harmful economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. A $50,000 micro-grant program for small businesses (employers with 50 or fewer employees) in the unincorporated areas of SLO County is now available. Initial grant application deadline: Tuesday, April 27th at 5:00PM. SLO County has a greater chance of moving into the Orange Tier if we continue to test at a high level. If you have symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19, please get tested immediately.

Eviction Protection

Californians facing financial hardship because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be protected from eviction through June 30 as long as they pay part of their rent under an emergency bill signed by the Governor on Friday, February  5.

Many utility providers are not shutting off services due to non-payment. Check with the California Public Utilities Commission for more information.
