Vaccines Approved for Age 12+

People 12-15 years old are now eligible for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. As a reminder, people 16 and 17 years old are also eligible for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. To help a friend or family member make an appointment, visit MyTurn.ca.gov. My Turn is a one-stop location that can help you book appointments through your local health department, medical providers, and pharmacies.

City Hall & Annex Reopening 

On June 1, Paso Robles City Hall at 1000 Spring Street and the City Hall Annex at 821 Pine Street will reopen to the public for walk-in services. Public counter hours will be  Monday-Thursday from 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm. Community Development Permitting processes will remain paperless. Please contact Community Development with any questions at 805.237.3850 or building@prcity.com.

Weed Abatement Update

The City of Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services Department has completed its first round of weed abatement inspections. Notices to remove weeds and combustible materials were sent to over 600 property owners and occupants within the City limits. Please ensure that weeds and other combustibles are removed from your property prior to June 1. Due to extreme fire risk in our area, the Department is not able to grant extensions to this deadline. See the hazardous fuel reduction guidelines and a list of local weed abatement contractors.

Library Expands Services

The Paso Robles City Library is now offering expanded services. Library sanitation protocols will remain in place and masks will still be required for anyone over the age of two to enter. The library is located at 1000 Spring Street and is open for in-person service Monday-Saturday 9-10 for vulnerable populations; Monday-Friday 10-7 for the general public and Saturday 10-4 for the general public.

Keep It Local Program Ending 

Buy your local gift cards now!  The "Keep It Local" gift card program ends on June 15, to coincide with the potential re-opening of the state’s economy. This program is designed to generate sales revenue for local businesses and save residents money.  Over 75 local businesses are participating in the campaign offering 20% discounts on full-value gift cards and certificates for a wide range of goods and services.  See the participating businesses here.

COVID-19 Updates

SLO County Still in Orange Tier

San Luis Obispo County is currently meeting the State’s metrics to remain in the Orange Tier of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, allowing for some additional business sectors and certain activities to resume. Local businesses must follow all State guidance for their industry. Governor Newsom has indicated that the pandemic emergency restrictions may be fully lifted on June 15.

Broadband Benefit Program

Beginning on May 12, low-income households can apply for the Emergency Broadband Benefit to receive a $50 monthly discount on in-home broadband service for eligible households, as well as a one-time $100 discount on a laptop, desktop, or tablet computer for those same qualifying households.

Fort Hunter Liggett Open House

Have you ever wanted to know what goes on behind the fence of a military installation? To celebrate its 80th Anniversary, Fort Hunter Liggett is opening up its doors to the public on May 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the chance to talk to Soldiers and Army Civilians, fire an M4 at a virtual target in an Army weapons simulator, check out Army equipment and vehicles, see inside a barracks, and much more.

Mid-State Fair Returns in 2021!

The Paso Robles Event Center announced this week that the 2021 California Mid-State Fair is happening on July 21-August 1, 2021 as scheduled.  

As safety continues to be the top priority, the Fair will be following all state and local health mandates regarding COVID-19.  It is also possible that certain attractions will need to have reduced capacity, depending on state and local health guidelines in place at the time of the 2021 Fair. 

Fairgoers will need to check the fair website before arriving for the most up-to-date information. Admission tickets for the 2021 Fair will go on-sale in early June and be sold exclusively online at www.MidStateFair.com.

Translation Services Available

The City of Paso Robles is using a new translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and will now be available to all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
