CA On Track to Reopen June 15As Californians get vaccinated, the state is reopening and moving beyond the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. The purple, red, orange and yellow tiers that helped us manage COVID-19 in our counties are on track to end on June 15. While very limited measures will remain, Californians will see life getting back to normal. As such, all sectors listed in the current Blueprint Activities and Business Tiers Chart may return to usual operations (with the limited exceptions for Mega Events).

"Keep It Local" Ends June 15thThe "Keep It Local" gift card program ends June 15, 2021, to coincide with the potential reopening of the state’s economy. This program is designed to generate sales revenue for local businesses and save residents money. To date, over $103,000 in revenue has been generated for local businesses. Over 75 local businesses are participating in the campaign offering 20% discounts on full-value gift cards and certificates for a wide range of goods and services. Workforce Development SupportJobNow and VetNow programs offer learning, career, and veteran support tools, such as resume and writing labs and an extensive list of resources, in addition to in-person support, such as live job coaching, live veteran benefits eligibility, and live tutoring. Community Navigator Pilot ProgramThe Community Navigator Pilot Program is designed to provide high quality support and assistance with pandemic relief programs and recovery services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Competitive grant awards will range from $1 million to $5 million for a two-year performance period. Applicants have until July 12, 2021, to submit their applications at grants.gov.

Emergency Broadband BenefitLow-income households who qualify can apply for the Emergency Broadband Benefit program to get online. The program provides $3.2 billion to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide a $50 monthly discount on in-home broadband service for eligible households, as well as a one-time $100 discount on a laptop, desktop, or tablet computer for those same qualifying households.
