Paso Robles Job FairA city-wide job fair is planned for Tuesday, July 13 from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Downtown City Park. The job fair provides a platform for businesses that are hiring to meet potential employees and for job seekers to learn vital skills and land their next gig. The Paso Robles Job Fair is supported by the City of Paso Robles and all businesses in the Paso Robles area are eligible to participate.

The Landing New Website Coming...The Landing is an upscale development project located in the heart of the Paso Robles Municipal Airport corridor. The Landing will feature an array of uses including public green spaces, retail shops, eateries, wineries, tech and light-industrial spaces, and state-of-the-art warehousing facilities. Women Who Code ScholarshipSLO Partners and Fullstack Academy are offering three (3) “Women Who Code” - scholarships for their online Software Engineering Immersive boot camp starting October 4th, 2021. This 26 week, part time course prepares candidates for software development roles - currently one of the most in-demand professions and one of the most popular careers for remote working, offering greater freedom, flexibility and job security. No prior coding experience is required to enroll in the program.

This course is open enrollment, so you can register and start the course as soon as you are ready. No prerequisites.

Workforce Development SupportJobNow and VetNow programs offer learning, career, and veteran support tools, such as resume and writing labs and an extensive list of resources, in addition to in-person support, such as live job coaching, live veteran benefits eligibility, and live tutoring. Community Navigator Pilot ProgramThe SBA has extended the application date for the Community Navigator Pilot Program grant initiative from July 12, 2021 to July 23, 2021, and anticipates making award decisions by September 2021. Established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the community navigator approach will reach our nation’s smallest businesses, with a priority focus on those owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, as well as women and veterans.

Small Business Tax Credit ProgramsThe American Rescue Plan extends the availability of the Employee Retention Credit for small businesses through December 2021 and allows businesses to offset their current payroll tax liabilities by up to $7,000 per employee per quarter. This credit of up to $28,000 per employee for 2021 is available to small businesses who have seen their revenues decline due to COVID.

Loan Guarantee ProgramThe Small Business Loan Guarantee program helps businesses create and retain jobs, and encourages investment in low- to moderate-income communities. The program promotes statewide economic development by increasing opportunities for entrepreneurs, the self-employed, microbusiness and small business owners to have better access to capital and other technical resources.

Emergency Broadband BenefitLow-income households who qualify can apply for the Emergency Broadband Benefit program to get online. The program provides $3.2 billion to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide a $50 monthly discount on in-home broadband service for eligible households, as well as a one-time $100 discount on a laptop, desktop, or tablet computer for those same qualifying households.

The Department of Administrative Services is responsible for providing service to the general public, business license applicants and each existing licensee. Our objective is to assist each business in obtaining the proper business license and/or permit and to ensure proper compliance to the business license code for all businesses transacting business within the city.
