New City Manager SelectedThe Paso Robles City Council is pleased to announce that a conditional offer of employment for the position of City Manager has been made to Ty Lewis, the current Paso Robles Police Chief. The appointment is formally scheduled to occur at the next City Council meeting on August 17, 2021. Mr. Lewis was selected following an extensive, nationwide search and selection process that included community members, city executives and the City Council. More details

Emergency Response Training The North San Luis Obispo County Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) teaches residents basic disaster response skills. Learn how to prepare for disasters, basic first aid, the psychology of disaster, how to extinguish small fires, safe structure search and rescue, and about terrorism and hazardous materials. Congressman Visits Paso RoblesRepresentatives of the City of Paso Robles hosted Congressman Salud Carbajal for a short presentation by the City to outline the current status of the city’s financial situation, the major challenges facing the City and the upcoming opportunities. The Congressman shared his thoughts on potential areas where he could lend assistance and pledged his continued support for the community.

Jedi & Butterfly Creative DanceA dance (and yoga) class designed for the imaginative minds of young dancers. Kids will learn basic dance directionality, spins, balance and dance counts through music rhythm in a fun, creative way. Props are used to enhance the dance experience. A mini dance performance will be held at the final class. Ages 4-6. Wednesdays, 3:15-4:15 p.m. September 1-December 8 (no class 9/22, 10/13, 11/10-24). $120/child (sibling discount available). Art ParkHighly popular after-school enrichment classes for young artists ages 5-8 taught by artist Mindy Dierks. Classes include Beginning Drawing & Painting, Mini Masters Art Appreciation and Mixed Media Art. The step-by-step approach during the Beginning Drawing & Painting class is perfect for young artists who want to learn how to draw fun things. During the September session of Mini Masters Art Appreciation classes students will learn about artist masters Andy Goldsworthy, Andy Warhol, Claude Monet, Frida Kahlo, George Seurat and Gustav Klimt with fun age-appropriate art projects. Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles is using a new translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and will now be available to all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
