In-Person Meetings Resume

The City has returned to hybrid public meetings pursuant to AB 361, which allows for a deviation from the teleconference rules required by the Ralph M. Brown Act. Residents now have the option to attend the meeting in person or to participate remotely. For those attending in person, the Council Chamber will be at limited capacity to allow for compliance with the social distancing recommendations of the state and county health departments. Masks will be required for all individuals in the Council Chamber.

Public Workshop - Library Services

Help develop the future of Library services. The Paso Robles City Library, together with the Centre for Organizational Effectiveness, invites the public to participate in the Library’s next phase of its strategic planning process at a virtual public workshop on Wednesday, November 3, from 6:00-7:00PM.

Groundbreaking for New Apartments

The City of Paso Robles held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 27 to celebrate the beginning of construction of a new apartment complex and the concurrent widening of Creston Road that fronts the complex.  Once complete, the complex will include 200 housing units and Creston will be widened to 5 lanes from Niblick to Lana, with sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the street. Construction of the complex is expected to start mid-November and completed in late 2023. Details

COVID Vaccines at Train Station

In anticipation of rainy weather and needing to resume normal Public Health Department functions at the Paso Robles Public Health clinic, vaccines and testing will be available at the Paso Robles train station at 800 Pine Street beginning on 11/3. There will be an official announcement coming soon.

Holiday Paint & Cocoa Party: Fall Pumpkin 

Art instructor Stormy Capalare will guide participants step-by-step to create this colorful fall pumpkin using acrylic paint on canvas.  This all-ages art class that also includes hot cocoa and seasonal music will happen on Wednesday, November 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Live Oak Room at Centennial Park.  Advance registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited. $10 registration + $15 supply fee (payable to the instructor in class).  Children ages four to seven may attend with the help of an adult. Youth Evolution Basketball Thanksgiving Camp

Join Youth Evolution Basketball for a special three-day skills camp to help your child stay active and engaged in a safe environment. Using Youth Evolution’s progressive curriculum and focusing on the whole player, this camp will teach your child the important skills needed both on and off the court.  This camp is for players ages five to eleven. Monday, November 22 through Wednesday, November 24 from 3:15 to 5:45 p.m. in the Centennial Park Gym. $100 (includes a basketball jersey). $10 sibling discount available. Location Shooting with Dean Crawford, Jr.

This four-class course will help you improve your photo images with helpful tips and suggestions. Students will practice on-location shooting at local sites in our county on two consecutive Saturdays. First and last meetings of each session are at Centennial Park. Saturday locations vary each session and will be announced at class. Participants must have a basic knowledge of their digital camera. $45 registration + $15 materials fee payable to instructor covers cost of final photo prints. Returning student discount $5.  Thursday, November 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. (White Oak Meeting Room at Centennial Park), Saturday, November 6 & 13 (on location shoots) 1-5 p.m. and Monday, November 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. (White Oak Meeting Room at Centennial Park).  Learn more and register here.

Hand-Sew a Harvest Pumpkin

Deadline to Register: November 6,
Zoom meetup: Wednesday, November 17, 6-7 pm

Create an engaging fabric pumpkin, similar to the one depicted, using simple supplies including fabric and a cork. Designed as a hand-sewn project for beginning and intermediate crafters, a sewing machine can be used instead. Space is limited. Registration with library card is required for each participant. For ages 16+.

Tuesdays: Try It! Tuesday Kit Pick Up Day! Every Tuesday, come on in to pick up one of our STEAM themed kits, which includes everything you need to complete the activity – even instructions! Try It! kits are great for all ages, but children under 6 will need help for most projects. Available while supplies last.

Foster Care Needed in Paso Robles

SLO County is currently facing an unprecedented shortage of available resource family homes to care for foster youth, 51 of whom are from Paso Robles. The two most pressing needs are for homes willing to provide short-term care as an emergency shelter home or homes willing to care for school-aged youth ages 6-18, especially teenagers. Creating 805 will take place on third Fridays at THE SANDBOX Paso Robles, highlighting and celebrating creative entrepreneurship on CA's Central Coast. Events are donation based and open to the public. 75 tickets available per event. Will provide time after discussions to give local creatives and entrepreneurs opportunities to connect, collaborate, and get work done.

Translation Services Available

The City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
