Weed Abatement Inspections May 1Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services will begin seasonal weed abatement inspections and courtesy notifications on May 1. Properties with weeds and combustible debris may be declared a nuisance and charged for weed abatement and administration fees. Paso Robles Weed Abatement is a year-round ordinance, with weed abatement inspections happening annually during the month of May. See the guidelines

No City Council Meeting May 3The regular City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2022 will not take place, as City Councilmembers will be attending a Governance conference.
The next meeting of the City Council will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

Sherwood Park Workshop May 3 A public workshop to review revised design concepts for a Pickleball Court Complex in Sherwood Park will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the City Council Chamber, 1000 Spring Street.
All those interested in pickleball and recreation at Sherwood Park are encouraged to attend and provide input.

Homelessness Services DiscussionsThe Paso Robles City Council has created an ad hoc committee to review and make recommendations regarding the City’s existing memorandum of understanding with El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO). Councilmembers John Hamon and Steve Gregory will host 3-4 meetings to gather public input and report out to the full Council by May 17. Details

PD Open House May 18The Paso Roble Police Department is pleased to announce an Open House for the public on Wednesday May 18th from 1730-1930 hours (5:30-7:30 PM). In addition to Facility Tours, the event will include demonstrations on K9 Unit, Drones, Fingerprinting, Specialized equipment and more! Chief Nord will welcome guests with a brief introduction. Please feel free to tell your friends and families to come as well! We look forward to seeing you there!!

Super Summer Sign Up PartySave the date and join the Recreation Services team for advance swim lesson registration and summer recreation camp/class sign-ups on Saturday, May 7 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Centennial Park (600 Nickerson Drive). During this special registration day, City aquatics staff will be available to answer questions and help parents select the perfect swim lessons for their child. Four swim lesson sessions are planned with lessons available at both Centennial and Municipal Pools for children 6 months and older. Painting Party: Tiny VaseThis class is the perfect pre-Mother's Day activity or a great craft to make as a Mother's Day gift for that special lady. During this class, students will paint a mini 3" vase while sipping lemonade and enjoying cookies outdoors on the Centennial Park Patio. Once your vase is completed, students can choose flowers from a selection provided by the instructor to fill the vase. All ages activity, ages 2-7 may attend with help from an accompanying adult. If an adult will be attending to assist the child, only the child needs to be registered. $10 registration + $20 supply fee. Monday, May 2 from 5:30-6:30 PM on the Centennial Park patio. Pickleball: Tuesday Tune-UpsJanice Mundee, Professional Pickleball Registry certified instructor, will lead drills and exercises to help players take their game to the next level. This intermediate class is for students ages 12 to adult who know basics of serving, scoring and court positioning. Tuesday, May 3 from 1-3 PM on the Centennial Park Pickleball Courts. $35 (additional family member discount available). Learn more and register here.

Ballroom Dance for Fun (Session 5)Improve your self-confidence, memory, balance, and many other physical benefits, and enjoy the fun dancing can provide. Session 5 will help student get ready for summer events: weddings, parties, cruises, and concerts in the park with Swing, Waltz, Latin dances and the introduction of Club Foxtrot. Beginning, intermediate, & advanced instruction to accommodate the varying abilities of the class. $67/couple. Wednesdays, May 4-25 from 7-8 PM in the Centennial Banquet Room B. Ages 9 to adult. Gain a new appreciation of Ukrainian culture by creating a piece that celebrates both. Utilizing several stitching techniques, this sunflower embroidery piece is designed for intermediate embroiderers. Space is limited. Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
