3-Day Watering ScheduleThe State of CA adopted regulations requiring urban water suppliers to implement Level 2 demand management measures established in the agency’s Water Shortage Contingency Plan. The City of Paso Robles does not have or anticipate having an actual water shortage, however, to comply with the State’s requirements the City is implementing Level 2 water demand management measures. Election Nomination Period If you would like to run for Paso Robles City Council in the November 8, 2022 election, the initial period for filing Nomination Papers is July 18 through August 12. Paso Robles residents will have the opportunity to vote for two open Councilmember seats (one in District 1 and one in District 2) and for the Mayor. Candidates must live in the district they're running to represent; the Mayor's position is at-large. Each position serves a four-year term. More information.

Concerts in the Park Have BegunThe popular, family friendly concert series has returned to Downtown City Park for its 21st season! The concerts are held on Thursdays, June 9 through August 18 (no concert July 28), from 6 to 8 PM. Proceeds from the concerts benefit the REC Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to creating enhanced programs, places and open spaces for quality recreational experiences in Paso Robles. Phase 2 of Spaceport License Application Process ApprovedOn June 7 the Paso Robles City Council approved the next phase of the FAA Spaceport license application process. A Preliminary Technical Review conducted earlier this year found that establishing a licensed Spaceport operation at the Paso Robles Airport is feasible. The efforts identified in this next phase of work are considered essential for the continued forward progress of the Paso Robles Spaceport project.

Economic Development UpdatesThe City of Paso Robles is preparing its first 5-Year Economic Development Strategic Plan. The major objective of this project is to build on the City’s Economic Strategy document originally developed in 2006 and identify long-term economic development strategies, opportunities, and challenges. The Economic Development Strategic Plan will provide the City and community stakeholders with a framework to budget resources and utilize staff capacity to achieve the recommendations of the strategy. 4th of July at Barney Schwartz ParkThe City of Paso Robles with Travel Paso is hosting a free 4th of July celebration at Barney Schwartz Park, on Monday, July 4 from 2-10 PM. The celebration will include family-friendly activities throughout the day, food trucks, a concession stand and will finish off with a fireworks show at around 9:30 PM. Parking and admission are free and there is also a free RV parking area that opens at 1PM, first come first serve. Bring a picnic but please leave the dogs at home. More information.

Jr. Lifeguard ProgramStay cool this summer and learn about becoming a lifeguard during the city’s Jr. Lifeguard Program. Swimmers ages 11-14 will learn basic lifesaving skills and how to work as a team while having lots of fun. The class includes a public swim pass for the two-week session in which the student is enrolled. Four class sessions to choose from Monday-Thursday, June 20 to August 11. All classes happen 11:15 AM-12:15 PM at Municipal pool. $130/session. Learn more and register here.

Babysitting & CPR Skills CampLearn babysitting and childcare skills during this fun and informative hands-on camp. Students will receive lots of hands-on safety practice, first aid safety tips and a Safesitter CPR certificate. Additionally, participants will learn basic care needs for different age groups, practice storytelling skills, learn how to use guidance skills with small children and more! Ages 11-16. Monday-Thursday, June 27-30 or July 11-14 from 2-5 PM. at Bearkitten Preschool. $60 registration + $40 supply fee. Sibling discount available. Learn more and register here.

Pickleball 101During this class you'll learn how to play pickleball in a fun environment from certified pickleball coach and longtime community member and teacher Jan Mundee. Participants will learn court terminology, types of shots, how to play doubles and how to score. This is an all-ages class for anyone ages 12 to adult. Families are welcome! Three dates to choose from including: Sunday, June 26, Sunday, July 17 or Sunday, August 14 from 8-11 AM on the Centennial Park Pickleball Courts. $55 registration ($10 additional family member discount). *NEW* Bilingual Story TimeThe Paso Robles City Library is pleased to offer Cuentos and Crafts with Cristal, a special 6-week bilingual Story Time and Craft program on Wednesdays at 1:30 PM at the Library Study Center, located on the corner of Oak and 36th streets.
Between June 22 and July 27, the Library Study Center will be open to children on Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00 PM.

But traveling with 25 dogs turned out to be a bigger ordeal than he anticipated! The title is available in in various formats through the catalog. Library Space is limited. Get a taste of Hawaiian culture, music, language and dance in this fun program for all ages. Na Mele o ke Kai is based out of San Luis Obispo and welcomes all interested individuals who want to experience the language and traditions of Polynesian cultures through dance, music and song.

Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
