City Council ElectionOn November 8, 2022, Paso Robles residents will have the opportunity to vote for two open Councilmember seats (one in District 1 and one in District 2) and for the Mayor. Each position serves a four-year term. For those interested in running for office, the initial period for filing Nomination Papers is July 18, 2022 through August 12, 2022. If a seated incumbent does not file nomination papers for their respective Councilmember or Mayoral seat, the filing period to submit nomination papers will be extended to August 17, 2022. Water Assistance ProgramSome Paso Robles residents may be eligible for a one-time payment to help with past due water bills through a new federal program. The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program is a federally funded program that offers a one-time payment to help you pay your past due water or wastewater bills. More information

Get Connected CaliforniaThe California Broadband Council has issued a “Call to Action” to get qualified households online with internet service through the Affordable Connectivity Program . Business Licenses OnlineDid you know that you can apply for and renew your business license online? A business license is required for all business transacted in the city, unless specifically exempted by the Paso Robles Municipal Code. Per the code, it is unlawful for any person to conduct business in the city without a business license. You can find more information here.

Mobile Food Vendor ApplicationsMobile Food Vendor reservations are now available at Barney Schwartz Park in Paso Robles. There are two vendor spaces near the park’s main entrance that require a permit through the city. Read the mobile food vendor application to learn about all the necessary requirements prior to making a reservation. If you’re a mobile food vendor and would like to reserve a date, email recservices@prcity.com.

Youth Evolution Basketball CampDesigned to keep your young baller active and engaged for the week of July 18-22 from 9 am to noon in the Centennial Park gym. Using Youth Evolution’s progressive curriculum, this indoor skills camp will teach your young player important skills both on and off the court. Ages 5-11. $169 ($10 sibling discount available). Youth Evolution Soccer Camp For players ages 5 to 11 will happen at Barney Schwartz Park, August 8-12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Pickleball 101Learn to play pickleball in a fun environment with a certified pickleball instructor Janice Mundee. Students will learn court terminology, types of shots, how to play doubles and how to score. This class is perfect for individuals or families (ages 12+). Hypnosis 101This introductory hypnosis class is taught by instructor Art Kuhns, a certified specialist in hypnosis and PTSD by the American Hypnosis Association. Art’s passion is empowering people to heal themselves. Art believes that hypnotherapy is a wonderful way to tap into the natural healing resources located in each of us. The class will cover a brief history of hypnosis, what hypnosis is (and isn’t) and the benefits of hypnosis. During this class you will learn how to hypnotize yourself and others. Wednesday, August 10 from 6-8 pm at Centennial Park. $40 registration fee. More information

Embroider a Summer Sampler Registration Deadline: August 10 Zoom Meetup: August 24, 6-7 PM Beginning and intermediate crafters will enjoy creating this month’s summer-themed embroidery project from DMC. In keeping with our Summer Reading Program theme Read Beyond the Beaten Path, this project depicts a sampling of summer fruits, flowers, and friendly insects. Space is limited. Registration with Paso Robles City Library card is required for each participant.

Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
