Community Risk ReductionThe City of Paso Robles continues its efforts to reduce community risk from wildfires. Risk in the Salinas River corridor has been mitigated by goat grazing, hand crews and CAT team trash removal and outreach efforts. In 2020 thirty-five acres burned, in 2021 five acres burned, and so far in 2022 only three acres have burned. More information

Creeks to Coast Clean Up DayThe City of Paso Robles is holding its annual Creeks to Coast Clean-Up Day event on September 17. This is a county-wide annual event where volunteers of all ages join City staff to remove trash and restore the health of our precious Salinas River. The event provides an opportunity to come together with your families, community and friends to accomplish something vital to the protection of our precious Salinas River. More information

Emergency Response TrainingPaso Robles Fire and Emergency Services Department, in partnership with the North San Luis Obispo County Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) program, is offering the CERT: Basic Training Class September 27 to October 8, which teaches basic disaster response skills so you can safely help yourself and those around you. Take this course and learn how to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community when disaster strikes. More information

Airport Commission RecruitingThe City of Paso Robles is seeking applicants for openings on the Airport Commission. The City will accept applications until 5 p.m. on Friday, September 30. The Commission serves the Paso Robles City Council as a means to aid the Council in gathering public input on the operation and future development of the Paso Robles Airport. More information

Call Before You DigSoCal Gas would like to remind residents to follow these important steps before you start a project: - MARK OUT your proposed project area in white paint or provide other suitable markings.
- CONTACT 811 Underground Service Alert (USA) at California811.org or dial 811, to submit a location request at least two business days before digging.
- USE ONLY HAND TOOLS within 24 inches on each side of marked utility lines to carefully expose the exact locations of all lines.

Zumba Gold is Back! Following a summer hiatus, Zumba Gold classes are returning to the schedule on Mondays and Fridays from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. in the Centennial Park Banquet Room. This upbeat class is a mid-level aerobic workout for any age set to Latin based music. Routines are fun and challenging. $45 for a 10-punch pass or $5 drop-in. Learn more and register here.

Art ParkYour young artist will learn by following the teacher in a step-by-step method that allows the child to see projects take shape from beginning to end with games, books and music exploration sprinkled throughout. Monthly four-week sessions/$60 (includes all supplies needed). October classes begin the week of October 3. Choose between Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday classes. 3:15-5:15 p.m. in the Centennial Park Acorn Room. Learn more and register here.

Women’s Volleyball LeagueJoin us for this competitive Women's Volleyball League which is made up of four to eight teams (comprised of at least 6 players each). Teams are guaranteed twelve matches (2 matches a night, 6 weeks of play) with the top four teams progressing to playoffs. Monday, September 26 through October 31 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Centennial Park Gym. Team registration/$306 (players must register on the first night of play as a team). Glow-Ga & Glow Dance PartySave the Date for a vinyasa-style yoga class followed by a glow in the dark dance party complete with a glow in the dark photo area. Friday, October 7 from 6 to 7:15 pm in the Centennial Park Banquet Room. $18 for an individual registration with family packages available including $32 for two family members and $60 for four family members. Glow Kits with glow sticks and jewelry are available for purchase at the event for $2 for an individual or $5 for a family kit. Learn more and register here.

Youth scholarships are available for all recreation classes. Scholarship information can be found here. Registration for all classes can be accomplished online at prcity.com/recreation or at the Centennial Park registration desk (600 Nickerson Drive) Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 PM.

In-Person Preschool Story Time Wednesdays, 10:00 am Story Hour Room The Paso Robles City Library has returned to offering weekly in-person Preschool Story Time for ages 3-6 with Youth Services Librarian Melissa Bailey. Join her on Wednesdays for stories, movement, music, and a craft activity. Children can practice their listening and socialization skills while having lots of fun. Space is very limited so come early and secure your seat.

Cuentos y Crafts with Cristal Tuesdays, 3:30 pm Story Hour Room Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15, and what better way than with bilingual stories and crafts? Beginning September 20, at 3:30 pm, Miss Cristal will engage children each Tuesday with a bilingual story and related craft in the Library Story Hour Room. Space and supplies are limited so arrive early to make sure you can participate!

Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
