Santa's Sleigh Returns! The Paso Robles Police and Fire Departments have invited Santa and his sleigh back to Paso. He will be at the Oak Park Community Center on Wednesday, December 14 from 6-7:30 PM and at Centennial Park on Thursday, December 15 from 6-7:30 PM, handing out hot cocoa and candy canes. Children can have their picture taken with Santa.

Water Rate HearingThe City of Paso Robles is proposing to gradually phase in water rate adjustments over the next five years to support water system operating and maintenance expenses, fund the City’s share of debt service for the Nacimiento Water Project, and provide funding for capital improvements needed to support safe and reliable service. All City water customers are receiving notices in the mail to announce a public hearing on the proposed water rate increases on December 20th, 2022 at 6:30 pm. More information

Paso Partners with MilitaryPaso Robles Mayor Steve Martin, Mayor Le Barre of King City, and Col. Lamb, Garrison Commander at Forth Hunter Liggett, have officially formed a partnership known as the Central Coast Military and Civilian Council (CCMCC). The goal of this effort is to to strengthen relations between military installations and local governments. More information

New Year's Eve CelebrationThe City of Paso Robles is hosting a FREE New Year’s Eve celebration in the downtown City Park that includes a bonfire, band, DJ, fire dancers and more. The celebration runs from 7-11PM. A 9PM ball drop is set to coincide with midnight on the East Coast so attendees can enjoy ringing in the New Year and still be home before midnight. All ages are welcome, there is no charge for admission. More information

Community Asked to Test Internet Access and SpeedThe cities of Paso Robles and Atascadero, through their joint broadband strategy project, and the Broadband Consortium of the Pacific Coast, have launched an internet needs assessment survey and speed test campaign for the public to self-report their digital experiences and internet speeds at home, work, or wherever they connect. Santa's elves and the Paso Robles Fire Fighters will be celebrating with Santa during this free event that includes holiday give-aways, treats and of course a photo op with the big man himself. Mail Your Letters to SantaThis year Santa's elves will once again deliver a special mailbox to Centennial Park for children to send their letters to Santa. This magical mailbox (which also offers a great photo-op for the holiday season) will be in the main lobby of Centennial Park beginning Monday, December 5 through Wednesday, December 21. The lobby will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for children to mail their letters. Every child who mails a letter will receive a special treat bag from Santa's elves. Any letter works, or download Santa stationery or a Santa letter template.

Holiday Hospitality DaysThe Recreation Services team will be spreading holiday cheer by hosting special hospitality days in December. Visit the Centennial Park main lobby and grab a holiday treat as our way of sharing the joy of the season with the community we love. Holiday Hospitality Days will happen Monday, December 12 through Friday, December 16 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. We hope you'll stop by and enjoy some holiday cheer with us!

Youth scholarships are available for all recreation classes. Scholarship information can be found here. Registration for all classes can be accomplished online at prcity.com/recreation or at the Centennial Park registration desk (600 Nickerson Drive) Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 PM.

In-Person Preschool Story Time Wednesdays, 10:00 am Story Hour Room The Paso Robles City Library has returned to offering weekly in-person Preschool Story Time for ages 3-6 with Youth Services Librarian Melissa Bailey. Join her on Wednesdays for stories, movement, music, and a craft activity. Children can practice their listening and socialization skills while having lots of fun. Space is very limited so come early and secure your seat.

The two most pressing needs are for homes willing to provide short-term care as an emergency shelter home or homes willing to care for school-aged youth ages 6-18, especially teenagers. Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
