Preparing for Fire Season

To prepare for the upcoming fire season, the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services would like to remind residents and property owners about the City’s weed abatement program. Property within the City must have all weeds mowed, disced, or otherwise removed to lessen fire hazards. Please clear all combustible vegetation, including dead leaves, weeds, brush, and tree limbs no later than May 1, 2019

The City is finishing up a parking pilot program on April 30 and will discuss the next steps for parking at the regular City Council meeting on May 7, 2019. Short term rental task force and public

Short-Term Rental Task Force Meetings

A task force is creating a draft ordinance and zoning amendment to address short-term rental properties inside city limits. The public is encouraged to attend. 

The last meeting is Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the City Council Chamber at 1000 Spring Street. A draft ordinance is tentatively scheduled to go before the Planning Commission on April 23, 2019. Agendas

Mock City Council Meeting

Every school year the Kermit King Elementary Leadership class is led by the Mayor through a Mock City Council meeting to get their take on an issue facing the community. For the first time they will be joined by the Leadership class from Bauer-Speck Elementary, and together the groups will brainstorm community-building event ideas to celebrate the City's change to by-district elections by planning a Kickoff Party in each district. Lifeguard Certification Class 

Are you looking for a great summer job or challenging career? This course is designed for experienced swimmers who want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Due to popular demand, the City of Paso Robles has added another Basic Lifeguard Training certification class on April 27 and 28, 2019 for $25 + a $39 Red Cross certification fee ($64 total), typically $200.

Make a Vertical Succulent Garden 

Create a gorgeous 11" x 14" vertical succulent garden. You'll add soil to an already assembled wood container, then plant choosing from a variety of succulents. Care instructions are provided so your garden will flourish. Everything is provided to complete your garden. This beautiful garden will make a fabulous Mother’s Day gift!  $20 + $50 supply fee payable to the instructor at the class.  Advance registration required.  Thursday, April 18 • 6-8PM. Register

The Paso Robles Library Foundation has been awarded a $5,000 JUSTIN Community Grant to expand collections and programs at the Library Study Center, located at 3600 Oak Street, Ste. 101. Youth Services Librarian Melissa Bailey states, “We are grateful to JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery for their support as we expand the Study Center’s collections to include non-fiction materials that will encourage students to explore the world around them and pursue areas of personal interest.”
