Preparing for Fire SeasonTo prepare for the upcoming fire season, the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services would like to remind residents and property owners about the City’s weed abatement program. Property within the City must have all weeds mowed, disced, or otherwise removed to lessen fire hazards. Please clear all combustible vegetation, including dead leaves, weeds, brush, and tree limbs no later than May 1, 2019.

Short-Term Rental Task Force MeetingsA task force is creating a draft ordinance and zoning amendment to address short-term rental properties inside city limits. The public is encouraged to attend. The last meeting is Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the City Council Chamber at 1000 Spring Street. Mock City Council MeetingEvery school year the Kermit King Elementary Leadership class is led by the Mayor through a Mock City Council meeting to get their take on an issue facing the community. For the first time they will be joined by the Leadership class from Bauer-Speck Elementary, and together the groups will brainstorm community-building event ideas to celebrate the City's change to by-district elections by planning a Kickoff Party in each district. Due to popular demand, the City of Paso Robles has added another Basic Lifeguard Training certification class on April 27 and 28, 2019 for $25 + a $39 Red Cross certification fee ($64 total), typically $200.
