Public Hearing notice for STR ordinance

Public Hearing Notice: Short-Term Rental Ordinance First Reading

On July 16, 2019 the City Council will hold a public hearing to consider a Zoning Ordinance amendment concerning short-term rentals, after opting not to approve a previous version of the ordinance in June. The new draft ordinance will be posted here 72 hours prior to the meeting.

Paid parking begins 8/14/19

Paid Parking Starts Mid-August

Pay stations have been installed downtown, with paid parking to begin on August 14. There is an activated pay station located at 13th and Park for those who would like to practice using it. Details about paid parking:

  • First 2 hours will be free, $1/hr after
  • Merchants will be offering validation
  • Employee parking permits are $5/mo

    City Council Meeting Highlights

    The Paso Robles City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chamber at 1000 Spring Street.

    Engineering Inspector

    The Engineering Inspector reviews and processes grading permits, utility service (water and wastewater connections) and public right-of-way permits in order to ensure conformance with city standards and approved plans, assesses fees, and maintains records. He/she inspects construction projects located in or impacting rights-of-way and public easements for compliance with municipal codes and standards and performs related duties as required.

    Performs non-sworn duties within the Police Department and attends a P.O.S.T. Certified Basic Academy, which is approximately 6 months in length. Upon graduation and award of the Academy Basic Certificate, candidates may be appointed and sworn-in as a Police Officer.

    Apollo 11 moonwalk

    Moon Landing, Moon Pies, and More!

    Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing on Saturday, July 20, 1:00-5:00 PM with a showing of the acclaimed 2019 documentary about the Apollo 11 mission (rated G); including previously unreleased footage, this film provides the perspectives of the astronauts, mission control team, and spectators. View the feature film based on the life of Neil Armstrong (rated PG-13), first man to set foot on the moon, and enjoy some Moon Pies!

    Table Top Game Day

    The Library offers a monthly gaming event -- Table Top Game Day!, On Saturday, July 27, 1:00-4:00 PM, the featured game is Galaxy Trucker, in which players construct a spaceship and fly to the edge of the galaxy. Or you can play any of the games owned by the Library including other trending games such as Settlers of Catan and Terraforming Mars and classic games such as Monopoly and Clue. Light refreshments will be provided. Designed for ages 16+.

    NEW: Large-Group Story Time

    Specially designed for preschool and daycare groups, ages 3-6—the last Tuesday of the month, beginning July 30, 10:00 am. The program includes songs, stories, and motor skill development exercises and runs about 40 minutes. Groups must come with a ratio of one adult for every eight children. Space is limited. Registration is required. Multiple groups will be accepted until room capacity is reached. For more information, contact Melissa Bailey, 805-237-3870.

    Call for Art Display Proposals

    The Library will be accepting applications to display art in the Library until September 10, 2019. Information and applications are available in the Library. Completed applications must include photographs or other representation of the work to be displayed.

    The California Mid-State Fair is held annually and runs for 12 days at the end of July. The Fair has hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry. The 2019 entertainment lineup includes Blake Shelton, Cardi B, Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, Smokey Robinson, Billy Idol, Melissa Etheridge and more. Details

    The Aloha spirit comes to Studios on the Park in this colorful exhibition celebrating the Hawaiian shirt and its proud symbolism of Hawaiian heritage. From its Polynesian roots to its popularity among American tourists and pop-culture icons, such as Elvis Presley in the 1950's, to recent high fashion reincarnations, the iconic flowered garment has not only stood the test of time but transformed with it.     Paso Robles Concerts in the Park

    Paso Robles Concerts in the Park is a long running, popular, FREE community event for all ages. The concert series takes place on Thursday evenings through the summer and typically draws approximately 2,500 visitors to the Downtown City Park. The 2019 series will include nine concerts, kicking off on June 6.
